Our Beginner's Classes

Computer Fundamentals
4-session class - $20

NOTE: If you feel intimidated by the keyboard or the mouse, we encourage you to start with this pre-introductory course.

This four session course is designed to develop the basic skills in using a computer keyboard and mouse. It is intended to be used to build a foundation of skills before taking the Introduction to Windows or Introduction to Windows, Email and the Internet classes. The course also covers the basics of using Windows and is appropriate for those considering the purchase of a Personal Computer. If you don’t have a computer, it is recommended that you make use of public computers such as those in public libraries to get the maximum benefit from the class.

Introduction to Windows
4-session class - $30

This four session course is intended for those who have little or no experience using Windows or the Personal Computer.. It is also suitable for those who have experience using specific programs but want to learn more about Windows itself. You will learn techniques for using and customizing your computer and how to create folders and files and how to save, organize and find files. You will also learn fundamental Word Processing techniques including cut, copy and paste.

Introduction to Windows, Email and the Internet
8-session class - $45

This eight session course covers the fundamentals of Personal Computer hardware and software. The first four sessions of this class will cover, in slightly more depth, the same material as is covered in Introduction to Windows and can be used as a refresher of that material. You will be also learn how to use Email to communicate with others and use the Internet to find information.

Our Intermediate Level Classes

Important Note: All intermediate level classes require having taken our Introduction to Windows classes or familiarity with Windows and basic skills in using a mouse and keyboard. Most assume a minimum of 6 months of personal computer experience..

Email and the Internet
4-session class - $30

n this class you will develop the skills for sending and receiving email, using a web browser, searching the web for information, viewing and participating in bulletin boards and selecting an Internet service provider.

 

Computer Safety and Security
4-session class - $25

This class is a non-technical look at "computer malware", including viruses,Trojans, worms, adware, phishing, pharming, spam, scams and hoaxes. You will explore several anti virus programs, spyware detectors and firewalls to protect your computer.

 

Google Workshop
4-session class - $20

Everyone has heard of Googleing on the Internet. Now you can learn what that means. Learn how to search, display maps and satellite views of the earth down to your house. Use Froogle to shop for the best bargains and more. It's fun.

 

Advanced Level Classes

Introduction to Word Processing
8-session class - $45

Using Microsoft Word word processor you learn commands and procedures to create, edit, correct and print documents. Topics include paragraph characteristics, formatting techniques, margins, tabs, spelling and grammar check, thesaurus, headers and footers, tables, graphics and mail merge.

Note: If you have taken our Introduction to Windowss classes, but have not had previous experience with Windows or the opportunity for additional`practice outside of class, you may find this class moderately difficult.

 

Introduction to Graphics
8-session class - $55

Have fun with your computer! Learn how to create greeting cards, signs, letterheads, business cards and more.

 

Introduction to Digital Imaging
8-session class - $55

This course is an entry into the field of digital photo editing.The use of photos from digital cameras, scanners and photo discs are covered. Using Adobe Photoshop Elements you will utilize the many features of this program to capture, modify and enhance images, and organize your photo collection. Competence using the keyboard and mouse is a necessity. To maximize your experience you should have the software when class starts. A disc with photos that will be used in class will be provided for you to use at home for practice,
