Our Beginner's Classes 

Computer Fundamentals 

4 sessions - $20 

NOTE: If you feel intimidated by the keyboard or the mouse, we encourage you to start with this pre-introductory course. 

This course is designed to develop the basic skills in using a computer keyboard and mouse. It is intended to be used to build a foundation of skills before taking the Introduction to Computers class. The course also covers the basics of using Windows.

This is appropriate if you are considering the purchase of a home computer. To derive the maximum benefit from the class you will need access to a computer outside the classroom.. 

Introduction to Computers 

8 sessions  - $45

Introduction to Computers covers the fundamentals of personal computer hardware and software. You will be introduced to WindowsXP and many popular applications, including word processing, graphics, email and the Internet. Upon completion of the course you will have overcome any initial fear of the computer and established the foundation for continuing your computer adventures by taking any of our intermediate level courses.

For those with Windows Vista PC's, our instructors will explain the differences.

Our Intermediate Level Classes 

Important Note: All intermediate level classes require having taken our Introduction to Computers class or familiarity with Windows and basic skills in using a mouse and keyboard. Most assume a minimum of 6 months of personal computer experience.

WindowsXP 

4 sessions - $40 

This class is a continuation to the Introduction to Computers course, with particular emphasis on file management - working with drives, folders and files; and creating, organizing, saving, and finding files. You learn techniques for using and customizing your computer.  

Computer  Safety and Security

4 sessions - $35 

This class is a non-technical look at “computer malware” , including viruses, Trojans, worms, adware, phishing, pharming, spam, scams and hoaxes.. You will explore several anti virus programs, spyware detectors and firewalls to protect your computer.  

Google Workshop  

4 sessions - $20 

Everyone has heard of Googleing on the Internet. Now you can learn what that means. Learn how to search, display maps and satellite views of the earth down to your own house. Use Google to shop for the best bargains and more. It’s fun.
