A Computer Fundamentals class at our classroom in the Family Partnership Center
ABOVE: Instructor Jeanette Peterson assists Elfride Maine in our Computer Fundamentals class as Gertrude Kearney, Evelyn Reynolds and Carol Fitzgibbons work on their computers.

Do you want to catch up with the information age?
Do you want to learn about computers in a relaxed atmosphere?
Do you want to make new friends?
Do you want to find out what the internet is all about?

If the answer to any of the above questions is "yes", then the SeniorNet Learning Center of Poughkeepsie has just what you want. The Learning Center, located in Family Partnership Center on Hamilton Street, is a volunteer organization dedicated to teaching computer skills to older adults in a relaxed, supportive environment especially tailored to the older learner. It is one of over 220 Learning Centers that exist throughout the United States to provide older adults education for and access to computer technology, and is supported by SeniorNet, a national nonprofit organization. These Learning Centers, involving more than 4,500 volunteers, provide a place where seniors can enroll in computer classes taught by their peers and learn at a relaxed pace. Since 1986, over 100,000 older adults have been introduced to computer technologies through SeniorNet programs.
